About Us

Our Culture

Building a law firm where everyone belongs.

Who we really are

We work hard to challenge expectations about what a law firm can be. Since 1972, we’ve been building something different here, a place where everyone belongs, where diverse perspectives make us stronger, and where the legal profession feels a little more human.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Reconciliation

Since establishing our EDIR Committee in October 2020, we have been working to create meaningful change, not just within our walls, but across Atlantic Canada. This isn’t about ticking boxes or following trends. It’s about building the kind of workplace and community we all want to be part of.

Progress, Not Perfection

We don’t have all the answers, and we’re learning as we go. Some initiatives work brilliantly. Others teach us what not to do next time. But we keep showing up, keep listening, keep learning, and keep trying to do better.

Highlights:

  • Attended Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural SURGE Conference (2023)
  • Became an Employer Partner with the Canadian Centre for Diversity & Inclusion (CCDI)
  • Presenting sponsor of Halifax Chamber of Commerce Wonder Woman since the beginning – focused on empowering and uplifting women and gender-diverse professionals, and provide education, inspiration, and tools for growth.
